Public Service Training

Quality french training

Quality french training is our business.

In addition to enrolling yearly approximately 850 individuals from the general public in second-language French courses, Alliance Française is also specialized in training members of the Federal Public Service (more than 4 000 hours taught in 2009) and has been “official supplier” for more than 15 years.

Alliance Française has always been the best place to learn French.

A highly qualified team of teachers

We employ 15 francophone teachers from all over the world who are specialized in French as a Second Language (FSL).

All our instructors have a recognized university diploma, more than 2 year experience in teaching French to adults and possess an international language level in written and oral skills.

Why study at ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE

1. A personalized approach suited to your needs

We will build a training plan according to your objectives, following the results of a needs analysis questionnaire taken before the training. We propose a calendar according to the candidate’s level and aims: full time/ part time training, private/semi private/ group training. (See below: Winter session to come)

2. Official materials provided by Canada School of Public Service

Our instructors use public service training material for both levels B and C. They use the proper tools required to prepare you for the new version of the language proficiency test. Genuine and unaltered documents issued by various federal departments and agencies are also used as complementary material.

Alliance Française has also access to daily updated Internet resources offering public service employees a variety of stimulating learning tools such as video news reports, periodicals, and computer and/or television animations.

3. Evaluation

A monthly evaluation of progress is provided by each instructor. Before the exam you will be placed in interview situations similar to those you will face during the tests (reading, writing and speaking).

4. Learn about French-speaking culture

In addition to French courses, you will have access to an immersion experience in Halifax throughout the year at the Alliance Française. Cultural events, workshops and the Media Library provide opportunities to put into practice course content and reinforce skills.
