CONCERT – IRÈNE JACOB AND FRANCIS JACOB”
irene jacob 0182

Date: Wednesday 22 February 2017
Location:  Alliance Française, 352 rue MacLaren | 6PM

Irène and Francis Jacob are not only united as siblings but also as musicians. Four years ago they decided to reunite, with Francis in the US and Irène in Paris, to start working on their new album “En bas de chez moi “.

“This new album En bas de chez moi, I see it like that, as a secret but fresh and patient plant that appears unexpectedly” says Irène.

A few years ago, Irène was an actress in Paris and he was a musician in New york and they decided, after their father’s death, to start making music together. The plant started to grow: he was a challenging guitarist, her voice was spontaneous and her body agile. Irène sings to tell a story, and Francis is the composer, he plays and creates the beat. He is harsh but fair and she is flexible but rigorous. It is only beginning and the story continues to grow..

IRÈNE JACOB

Along with her musical talent, Irène Jacob is considered one the best French actresses of her generation. Winning best female actress award at the Cannes festival in 1991, she gained international recognition for her work with Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Kieslowski.
