Our free online test allows you to test your reading and writing skills.

STEP 2: Meet a teacher for an oral assessment

Please complete the free online test by a free oral assessment with an instructor. He/She will evaluate your listening and speaking skills. This complementary oral assessment can be performed over the phone or in person at our location.

STEP 3: Chose your course

With the help of a teacher, choose the course that fits your goals and your schedule.

RULES & REGULATIONS AT ALLIANCE FRANCAISE OTTAWA

All courses starting on September 2018 will follow these General sales conditions

PAYMENT

  • All new students: $20.00 yearly administrative fee due at time of registration.
  • Once processed, registration is final. Exception: medical emergency supported by documentary evidence (i.e. hospital note).
  • Payment in full required before 1st lesson.  No refund will be granted unless a course is cancelled by AFO.
  • Employer-financed: Payment required within 30 days of reception of invoice.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

  • Visa, Mastercard, cheque, debit/interac, direct deposit, cash, mail order. Please make cheque payable to AFRCNC or Alliance Française de la Région de la Capitale Nationale du Canada.
  • A $25 fee will be charged for «non-sufficient funds» cheques.

CANCELLATION

  • AFO reserves the right to cancel any course or reduce the number of instructional hours of any given course (group courses: insufficient enrollment).
  • In the event that a group course is cancelled, AFO will offer students different options: a) Transferring to another class, b) store credit note, c) A full refund.

REFUNDS

  • NO REFUND will be granted unless a course is cancelled by AFO.

STORE CREDIT NOTES

  • Credit notes may be granted to a student who wishes to withdraw from a class ONLY when he/she provides AFO with WRITTEN NOTICE of his/her intent to withdraw WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF THE GROUP CLASS SESSION.
  • Please note that absence from class does not constitute notice of withdrawal.
  • Store credit notes are valid for a period not exceeding 1 year from the date the credit note was issued.
  • Credit notes will be processed based on the number of remaining hours in the course once written notice of intent to withdraw is received by AFO.
  • A $20 administration fee will automatically be deducted from the value of the credit note.
  • Students are not entitled to a credit for a class where a previous credit was used as full or partial payment of course fees.
  • Credit notes are non-transferable & non-refundable.

INCOME TAX RECEIPT

  •  Training fees are tax deductible according to Canada Revenue Agency; a tax receipt will be issued by AFO at the end of the year.

PARKING

  • Parking is strictly reserved for AFO’s staff. No student parking allowed.
