HOW TO REGISTER

All new students must take a free 15 minutes complementary placement test so that we can place you at the appropriate level and offer you a training that matches your objectives.

To take a placement test, you can come in person at Alliance Française (352, MacLaren St., Ottawa – at the corner

of Bank & MacLaren) or do it over the phone.

In each case, you have to book an appointment by calling 613-234-9470 ext.221 or writing an email to : info@af.ca.

The registration period begins 3 weeks before the starting date of the course.

RULES & REGULATIONS AT ALLIANCE FRANCAISE OTTAWA

PAYMENT

  • Students are required to pay the entire cost of training, registration fee and the course material (when applicable) prior to the beginning of the session.
  • A $25 fee will be charged for «non-sufficient funds» cheque.

CANCELLATION

  • Alliance Française of Ottawa reserves the right to cancel any course or reduce the number of instructional hours, should there be fewer than 4 students registered.
  •  In the event that a course is cancelled, AFO will offer students different options:
  • a) Transferring to another class, b) A credit note, c) A full refund.

REFUNDS

  • NO REFUND will be granted unless a course is cancelled by AFO.

CREDIT NOTES

  • Credit notes may be granted to a student who wishes to withdraw from a class ONLY when he/she provides AFO with WRITTEN NOTICE of his/her intent to withdraw WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF THE SESSION.
  • Please note that absence from class does not constitute notice of withdrawal.
  • Credit notes are valid for a period not exceeding 1 year from the date the credit note was issued.
  • Credit notes will be processed based on the number of remaining hours in the course once written notice of intent to withdraw is received by AFO.
  • A $20 administration fee will automatically be deducted from the value of the credit note.
  • Students are not entitled to a credit for a class where a previous credit was used as full or partial payment of course fees.
  • Credit notes are non-transferable & non-refundable.

INCOME TAX RECEIPT

  •  Training fees are tax deductible according to Canada Revenue Agency; therefore a tax receipt will be issued by AFO at the end of each session.

PARKING

  • Parking is strictly reserved for AFO’s staff. No student parking allowed.
