You want to speak French, improve your oral expression, reactivate your knowledge in French, in a relaxed atmosphere. Alliance Française Ottawa offers 3 French conversation group in Ottawa.

Oral practise and pronunciation A1

The program of this conversation course is based on oral comprehension, oral expression and pronunciation exercises.

Discussion topics will focus on simple communication situations for daily life in order to encourage learners to communicate verbally.

Numerous activities will be offered throughout the course of this 14 hour program to:

  • improve pronunciation
  • develop one’s ability to communicate orally
  • improve listening comprehension
  • enrich vocabulary
  • become more comfortable in every day conversations

No prerequisite: this course is designed for levels A1.1 to A2.1; new students must take the free placement test.

 

Oral practise and vocabulary A2

The program of this conversation course is based on every day themes, to improve your oral skills while enriching your vocabulary.

Discussion topics will focus on simple communication situations for daily life in order to encourage learners to communicate verbally.

Numerous activities will be offered throughout the course of this 14 hour program to:

  • enrich vocabulary
  • develop one’s ability to communicate orally
  • become more comfortable in every day conversations
  • read an enriched mini-novel to expand your vocabulary

Prerequisite: this course is designed for levels A2.2 to B1.1; new students must take the free placement test.

 

Discussion B1

The program of this conversation course is based on authentic francophone documents to encourage speaking along with listening comprehension.

Discussion topics will focus on every day French in order to encourage learners to communicate verbally.

Numerous activities will be offered throughout the course of this 14 hour program to:

  • practise watching / listening to francophone audio visual programs (TV series, commercials, etc.) and discuss them
  • develop one’s ability to communicate orally by discussing various topics
  • become more fluent in every day conversations
  • enrich vocabulary by reading different types of texts (comics, magazines, news papers, etc.)

Prerequisite: this course is designed for levels B1.1 and higher; new students must take the free placement test.

STEP 2: Meet a teacher for an oral assessment

Please complete the free online test by a free oral assessment with an instructor. He/She will evaluate your listening and speaking skills. This complementary oral assessment can be performed over the phone or in person at our location.
